When the order is approved, the parts needed to build the mould for plastics are ordered.

Once the raw steel has been obtained, Ceresoli Stampi begins the squaring and planing work of the moulding parts, by drilling the cooling circuits made possible by special machines that also permit very deep drilling (maximum 1 m in one passage). Finally, we rough-refine the mould.

If necessary, steel treatments are performed to give different mechanical characteristics, such as greater resistance or reduction of friction: treatments include stress relieving, to avoid deformation of the mould, and hardening and nitriding on parts subject to wear, to reduce friction. Again on request, special machining operations can be carried out on steel, obtaining through laser engraving any kind of effect such as writing and drawing, to give the product a specific look or to simulate the visual effect of other materials.

Following rough-refining or tempering the mould there is the finishing of the parts, which usually consists of fine touches, and after using milling machines the piece is considered finished: at this point the moulding parts can be polished and mould assembly can begin.

We also look after sampling and pre-production runs.
